What happened
Reuters reports that Anthropic is folding Claude’s chat, Cowork, and Design capabilities into one interface. The report says Claude is intended to choose the capabilities a task needs instead of asking users to select a mode first. Reuters also reports the launch of Claude Docs and Claude Slides as beta features.
How it works
According to Reuters, Claude Docs can export to Google Docs and Microsoft Word, while Claude Slides can export to PowerPoint and PDF. The report says the rollout starts with Pro and Max subscribers on web, desktop, and mobile, followed later by Team and Free plans.
The design is an orchestration layer: the visible request stays unified while the underlying work changes from conversation to document creation, presentation assembly, or a more agentic workspace. That can reduce the number of product decisions a user has to make, but it also moves more routing responsibility inside the system.
Why it matters
As AI products collect specialized tools, the interface may become one intent box while routing and output formats remain underneath. The benefit is less mode hunting; the tradeoff is that users need a clear way to understand what Claude chose and what it actually did.
What we don’t know yet
Reuters is reporting the product, export, plan, and timing claims. The report does not establish how routing behaves across edge cases, what limits apply to the beta exports, or when Team and Free users will receive the full set of capabilities.
