What happened
Pokemon GO says its Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek event runs from October 13 at 10:00 a.m. through October 19, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. local time. The event introduces Bramblin through GO Pass tasks or Incense encounters and adds a new ceiling to Mega progression.
How it works
Mega Manectric can move past the existing Max level to a new Super Max Mega Level. The announcement lists Discharge+ at 50 power in Trainer Battles and 150 power in Raid Battles. Reaching Super Max requires Mega Energy after the normal Mega Level progression, and the event GO Pass can award five times Mega Energy from buddy exploration after Manectric has been Mega Evolved at least once.
The design reuses a currency and behavior players already understand. The new tier gives those loops a reason to continue without introducing a completely separate progression economy.
The event also uses a familiar content loop to introduce the change. Encounters, GO Pass tasks, Mega Energy, and buddy exploration all point toward the same new ceiling rather than competing for attention.
Why it matters
This is live-service progression with a new ceiling attached to a familiar resource and the buddy loop. It extends an endgame ladder while keeping the action that feeds it recognizable.
What we don’t know yet
The 5x bonus is conditional on the event GO Pass wording, and event details, prices, regional availability, and bonuses can change. Bramblin encounters are not guaranteed, and the Super Max and Discharge+ details should not be generalized beyond the announcement.
